What we sound like

Bedford Radio caters for all the community across our schedule.

During the daytime we play hits from the '80s to today, and bring you all the latest information and discussion about what's happening in Bedford.

In the evening and at weekends you can expect music from many different genres, and programmes showcasing the things people in Bedford are passionate about.

What makes us unique

1. Bedford Radio comes from the local community
   All our presenters live in Bedford or have a strong connection with Bedford, and we have our studios in the town centre.
2. Bedford Radio supports the local community
   We provide a showcase and platform for Bedford's vibrant culture, diverse community groups, and independent businesses.
3. Bedford Radio is a voluntary, not-for profit local radio station 
   Our presenters and other volunteers do it because they are passionate about radio, and about the local community; we are not in it for the money!
4. Bedford Radio is open to everyone 
   Anyone can get involved and become a presenter or volunteer on Bedford Radio - there's no charge, and full training is given.

About us

• Bedford Radio exists to serve Bedford Borough, including the main urban area of Bedford and Kempston, and the surrounding villages.
• We were established in 2018, started broadcasting online in 2020, and launched on DAB digital radio in 2024.
• As a local radio station, we aim to serve all of Bedford, and not just focus on one community, interest or style of music.
• We are still developing and growing: we have more work to do to fulfil our role in Bedford, and will always welcome new volunteers.
